Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, in the app, at any time. Nobody has to approve it and it happens at once.
In the app
- Open Kuutti and go to Your account.
- If you want a copy of your data first, choose Download my data.
- Choose Delete my account.
- Read what the app tells you and confirm with Delete everything.
Without the app
If you cannot sign in any more, you can ask for the deletion by writing to hello@kuutti.app. We have to be sure that the request comes from the person whose account it is, so the answer may ask you to identify yourself.
What goes at once
- your profile and everything you wrote in it
- your photos, in every size they were kept in
- whom you seek, your age range and your other preferences
- where you live
- your e-mail address and the contacts you stored, if you had any
- the consents you gave
- the devices you were signed in on
- the link between you and the research events, if you took part in research
This cannot be undone.
What is kept, and why
- That this person once had an account. Kuutti keeps a code computed from your personal identity code, which cannot be turned back into it; the record of your last identification (which bank, when, and the identification service’s own references for it); whether the person is banned; how many times an account was deleted, and the day from which a new one is possible. It is what makes one person one account, and what makes a ban hold.
- An empty account row. Without your age, your gender or your area: it only says that an account existed and was deleted.
- The log of staff actions, for five years. It records what moderators did and saw, not what you did.
Research events that were recorded while you took part stay, but nothing connects them to you any more. Where somebody else was shown one of your photos, the record of that stays with them; it names the photo by a number, and the photo is gone.
The server’s log keeps one line about the deletion, with the account’s number and how much was deleted, for 30 days.
Creating a new account
A new account is possible 30 days after the deletion. Nothing of the old account comes back with it.
Backups are kept for 35 days and then overwritten; what was deleted is gone from them after that.
